Hey there, Arjun here
This week, I wanted to cover more about how to identify the weak areas of your business. Using what we call the Furnace Theory.
Imagine this:
You’re a caveman. Or woman. That's the beside the point. You have a furnace, some chicken and coal. You want to cook the chicken. You put in the coal and put the chicken in the furnace to cook it. But, the chicken is still raw. Why?
In your case,
- The chicken is your outcome (your goal).
- The furnace is your sales process (the landing pages, automations, products, e.t.c).
- The coal is the efforts you put into your business.
Since the chicken is your outcome, you should focus on what causes that outcome. Which is the coal and the furnace.
Your coal (efforts) will not mean much if your furnace (sales process) is bad. Because no matter how much coal you use, if your furnace doesn't work, the chicken doesn't get cooked properly.
I hope you are understanding my point here. You need to work on and make sure your furnace a.k.a your sales process is working.
Your sales process consists of your landing pages, products, automations, lead collection methods and the systems set in place to convert a fellow internet person into your customer.
Once you feel that you can't improve your sales process by more than 5%, you should now start putting in more effort into the finding the coal (content creation).
Automate the sales process and focus on the content creation process.
If you don't really know if your furnace (sales process) is working properly, you can ask for experts to critique it. Here is the thing. Your furnace is built with a framework that is proven and tested. But your coal (your efforts and content creation) is unique to you. There is no one way to creating content.
